Western Union is the world's largest money transfer network, with 50,000 locations in over 160 countries worldwide. Through Western Union, an individual can send and receive money, pay bills, get cash and send messages.
To send money, go to a Western Union location in person and pay cash, or call 1-800-CALL-CASH and pay with a credit card. There are also two options for bill payment: cash in person or credit card over the phone. Western Union also offers the Cash Card, which is an ATM card. Just put funds into it at any Western Union location, and access the money at any Western Union or ATM with a Plus symbol.
There are several message services available: telegrams, cablegrams, mailgrams and priority letter services. Telegrams are delivered either over the phone or by a Western Union agent in person. They are only available within the United States. Cablegrams are the international equivalent of a telegram. Mailgrams are Western Union's overnight delivery service. Priority letter delivery takes 2-3 days. All messages are printed by Western Union- just give them the text and the recipient's name; they do the rest.
TYPNote: There are 198 locations in Manhattan for Western Union. Please look on their website for complete listings
