GIFTS
Gift giving has its traditions in New York as it does elsewhere around the world. Other than major holidays, such as Christmas and Hanukah, gifts are also given to friends and family on birthdays, weddings, bridal showers, and baby showers. One tradition in gift giving is to bring a small token of thanks when invited to dinner or to stay at the home of a friend or colleague. Some examples might be a bottle of wine or a small basket of goodies- chocolate, flowers, cheeses. Other than that gift giving does not follow any set standards or rules.
