Film Developing: While some of the best quality film developing is still done at specialized photography shops with their own labs, many drug stores and other shops now have their own automated "photo developing and printing labs" that can do a reasonably good job of developing your negatives and printing pictures in one hour.
Slide film is more difficult and it depends on the type. Some must be sent to special labs for overnight processing.
Many photo shops now have machines that let you enlarge and crop photos from your own negatives.
