The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey operates a train service between Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station and terminals and parking at Newark Liberty Airport.
The
Newark AirTrain, connects with NJTransit® commuter and Amtrak® regional trains, making it possible for travellers to avoid traffic and ride to and from Kennedy Airport. It also serves as a convenient on-airport transport service between airline terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttles & airport parking lots.

Getting to the AirTrain:

From New York Penn Station (Midtown Manhattan): Take the subway, bus or the LIRR to Penn Station. At Penn Station, take a NJ Transit® or Amtrak® train to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station.
Travelers should be aware that not all trains stop at the airport station and are advised to check the schedules. When taking a NJ Transit® Train be sure to choose a train that runs on the North Jersey Coast Line or Northeast Corridor Line with a scheduled stop for Newark Liberty International Airport.

When you get to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station follow the signs to the AirTrain.
Go up one level, pass through fare gates, then go down one level to the AirTrain platform. Please remember that you will need your NJ Transit® or Amtrak® ticket to transfer through the fare gates.

From the PATH Station at 33rd St. (Midtown Manhattan):Take the PATH from the 33rd Street Station to Newark Penn Station. Then transfer to a NJ Transit® or Amtrak® train to Newark Liberty International Airport Station.
When taking a NJ Transit® Train be sure to choose a train that runs on the North Jersey Coast Line or Northeast Corridor Line with a scheduled stop for Newark Liberty International Airport.

From Long Island: Take the Long Island Rail Road to New York Penn Station. At Penn Station transfer to a NJ Transit® or Amtrak® train to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station.

From Westchester: Take an Amtrak® train from New Rochelle Train Station to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station. Not every train stops at the airport station, please check the Amtrak® schedule.
When you get to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station follow the signs to the AirTrain.

Using the AirTrain to To Travel Around Newark Liberty International Airport:
The AirTrain makes frequent stops at airline terminals, parking lots, hotel shuttle areas and rental car facilities. The AirTrain run on two loops, the Inner Loop which makes stops at all terminals, and the Outer Loop
which stops at all airline terminals, hotel shuttles (at station C), long term parking (stations A & B) Jamaica Station (station A) and Howard Beach Station (station D).
Fares & Tickets:
- All AirTrain rides within Newark Liberty International Airport are free, so that you can connect between terminal, parking, hotel shuttles & rental car facilities without paying a fee.

Buying a Ticket:
If you buy a NJ Transit® or Amtrak® ticket to or from Newark Liberty International Airport Station, the ticket will cover the AirTrain portion of your ride as well as the Amtrak® or NJ Transit® portion.
Please be advised that you will to use the ticket twice - once to show the ticket to the NJ Transit® or Amtrak® conductor and again to pass through the fareline at the airport train station. Those who have a commuter weekly or monthly ticket to a destination beyond the Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station may use that ticket to get the the Airport Train Station, but will need to purchase a seperate NJ Transit®
AirTrain ticket for $5.50 at the station.

Where to Purchase a Ticket: Ticket machines are located at the entrance to AirTrain stations in each terminal, the Ground Transportation Center in Terminal C, the Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station and at most NJ Transit® stations.
