Innocence has nowhere to hide

London to Brighton From the moment the film begins, the chase is on. London, 3:07am: Kelly, whose eye is badly beaten, and Joanne momentarily hide out in a public restroom waiting for the next train to Brighton. How these two girls met and why they are running for their lives is told in a series of flashbacks as they make their way to what they hope is a safe house by the beach. But they aren’t the only ones whose lives are in danger as Kelly’s pimp Derek has 24 hours to find the girls or else an unhappy client will kill him.

Where can you go when innocence has nowhere to hide? The answer lies somewhere between LONDON TO BRIGHTON.

Selected Fim Reviews of LONDON TO BRIGHTON

This is a film that was won awards and critical acclaim. It made the list in the Village Voice/LA Weekly 2007 Poll for Best Undistributed Film. For a bit of flavor of this independent film check these reviews:

Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
"The journey from London to Brighton has become something else: a journey into the final circle of the inferno. Williams's film is a 120-degree proof thriller, with storytelling nous and technical flair: it's the best British film of the year."

TimeOut New York
February 7-13, 2008:  "David Fear's four star review ran with artwork."

TimeOut London
'London to Brighton' was a genuine out-of-nowhere first feature in the British section, an abrasive urban thriller about a prostitute and a young runaway escaping the grasp of a ruthless pimp and his shady underworld connections. It was taut as cheesewire, almost as tough, but never forgot its fundamental compassion for these unlovely characters.

The Village Voice Online
February 5, 2008: Nathan Lee's review: ". . . this is the tense, white-knuckle stuff of London to Brighton . . ."
